The WOW CBSI (Women of Wisdom) ladies were blessed to have visited the Correctional Institute for Women in Mandaluyong city, Metro Manila last December 5, 2007. After their CBSI class at Word Community Church, they went there to distribute Christmas packages to at least 100 inmates and take part in their weekly fellowship.
Rose Arriola,, an inmate and leader of the Values Education Program of the CIW, shared her testimony after a few regular members of the fellowship led in Praise and Worship. Linda Bonifacio from WOW CBSI gave a short gospel presentation, hoping that the visitor-inmates who are new to the fellowship will have the opportunity to decide to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Later on, the WOW ladies talked to the inmates in groups of three or four, and enjoyed listening to the stories of the women, in turn being blessed by their lives.
Pin Garcia who assists in the weekly fellowship, reported that after that visit, attendance increased from an average 80 women to now more than 100.
In her big handcrafted card, Rose said it all for the inmates who were there, “To the WOW CBSI team, it is our great joy to be with you all even for a while. Truly, your sincere visit is a remarkable event in our prison life. We thank you so much for sharing with us your love and time!”
